| The Energy and Vitality Index (EVI) is a subscale of the SF-36 Health Survey. It is generally considered as a feasible instrument for evaluating the positive aspect of mental health (Lehtinen et al., 2005). EVI measures the occurrence and extent of energy and vitality during the past month. The scale includes four questions about the degree of energy and tiredness, as well as the overall degree of happiness. The score for the EVI was computed by adding the scores of each question item and then transforming the raw scores to a 0–100-point scale (EORG, 2003a).
