Remarks

Smoking attributable mortality reflects the smoking prevalence evident two to three decades earlier. That is the reason why still more men than women are dying from smoking attributable diseases in all EU countries. Female mortality, however, increases and reflects the increased prevalence of tobacco use among European women.
