Infant mortality is expressed as the numbers of deaths in infants under the age of 1 year, per 1000 live births, in a given year. It is a basic indicator for population health, primarily pointing at the quality of perinatal and infant care.
The data have been delivered by the ISARE project (health indicators in the regions of Europe) in the frame of the project’s own data collection process. This information is included here as an example of presenting results of Public Health Programme projects in EUPHIX.
